Commercial transport depends on knowing what a vehicle is carrying, but an extra stop to check its weight can interrupt an already demanding schedule. The new Msasa Pay & Weigh facility introduces Sasco’s WIM 4000 weigh-in-motion technology to Harare, allowing vehicles to be weighed as they travel slowly over the weighing equipment, without stopping for the measurement. The unmanned operating model is intended to make routine weight checks easier for drivers, fleet owners and logistics businesses.
Sasco Africa and CropServe developed the site through a joint venture. It builds on Sasco’s established Pay & Weigh operation in South Africa and is intended as the first location in a planned rollout of additional weighing facilities across Zimbabwe. Located at George Avenue and Falice Avenue in Msasa, the site combines practical access, automated weighing, and electronic results for the road freight sector.
